30-45 mm. Occurs in the western part of the Balkan Peninsula, unknown from Hungary. The larvae feed under the bark and later feed and pupate in the heartwood of fruit trees. Adults fly from June to August. Adults hide during the day and can be found on the trunk of their foodplants at dusk.
