6-9 mm. Southern and Central European species, rare in Hungary. A characteristic species of warm habitat oak forests. Larvae develop in apical twigs of branches of oaks (Quercus pubescens, Qu. cerris) already ringbarked by the jewel beetle Coraebus florentinus. Overwinter as adults. Can be found from April to June. Attracted to lights.
