9-20 mm. Mediterranean species, absent from Hungary. Polyphagous, but prefers fig (Ficus carica). Larvae feed under the bark of dead or dying wood, later moving to the heartwood and pupating there. Adults hide on the foodplants during the day, becoming active at dusk. Attracted to lights.
