13-19 mm. Generally rare in Europe, Siberia, montane forests of Kazakhstan, and the Northern Caucasus. Characteristic of established stands of pussy willow (Salix caprea). Larvae develop and pupate in wounded but still living branches and trunks. Adults can be found from June to August.
