1,5-2 mm. Univoltine. The irregular, 3-5 branched egg galleries are ca. 0.6 mm wide. One arm is 5-20 mm long. The larval tunnels are short and bend irregularly. In branches and thinner stems of beech (Fagus sylvatica). European species.
