2.5-3 mm. The two-branched egg gallery is 3-6 cm long. The loosely packed larval tunnels are 5-7 cm long. Lives in thinner stem and branches of Ash (Fraxinus), more rarely in Syringa, Olive (Olea) and privet (Ligustrum). A mediterranean species which can also be found in Hungary.
