Acrocercops brongniardella Fabricius
Lepidoptera: Gracillariidae

Bivoltine (VI-IX.). Main hosts are Quercus robur and Q. petraea, but also can be found on other oak species. The yellowish white larva mines on the upper side, slightly under the epidermis. The mine therefore has a silvery shine. First part is a narrow serpentine line, that later becomes a large blotch mine. If more than one mine can be found on one leaf, these mines grow together and often cover the whole leaf surface. European species occurs everywhere in Hungary.
