Gracillaria syringella F. Bivoltine (V-VI. and VIII-IX.). Hosts are Ligustrum, Syringa, Fraxinus, Euonymus, Viburnum, Forsythia. The blotch mine is on the upper side greenish or brownish, looks slightly "inflated". The faeces is deposited irregularly. The larva is white or greenish, with a dark grey stripe on its back. Sometimes more than one larva can be found in one mine. They mine only when they are young, later feed gregariously in rolled leaves. Occurs in Europe and Asia Minor, common in Hungary. |
