Lepidoptera: Leucopteridae

Has two or three generations per year. Polyphagous, beside the Malus hosts cab be Prunus, Cerasus, Cotoneaster, Crataegus, Alnus, Betula. The mine is 1-2 cm in diameter, more or less rounded. The faeces in the mine is deposited in a spiral line. In outbreak situation up to 20 mines can be found on one leaf. Occurs in most of Europe, can be found everywhere in Hungary.
