Phyllonorycter maestingella Zeller
Lepidoptera: Gracillariidae

Bivoltine (VI-VII. and VIII-X.). Host is Fagus. The larva makes mine on the underside of the leaf, usually between 2 veins, or occasionally at the leaf margin. The tent-like hump can be seen on the upper surface. The mine rarely can be found on the upper surface. There are much web in the mine. The larva is light yellowish brown with brown head. Pupates in the mine. Occurs in North and Central Europe, also common in Hungary, where its host present.
