Leaf mines and leaf miners

Rynchaenus subfasciatus Gyllh.
Coleoptera: Curculionidae

Univoltine (VI-VII.). Hosts are Quercus species, but according to the literature mines only the soft leaved species. The mine runs on the leaf margin, filled with faeces. At the end of the mine the larva cuts out a circular disc from the leaf. Central European species, occurs in Hungary.
