Lepidoptera: Nepticulidae

Bivoltine (VI. and VIII-X.), hosts are Prunus and Cerasus species. The mines (usually more than one on a leaf) can be found in the middle of the leaf. The first part of the mine is narrow. The faeces forms a permanent middle line in it. Later it becomes a blotch mine 5-6 mm in diameter. The frass is concentrated in the middle of the mine. The larva is yellowish white. Occurs in Europe, common in Hungary.
