Stigmella speciosa (Frey)
Lepidoptera: Nepticulidae

Bivoltine (VI-IX.). Main host is the sycamore (Acer pseudoplatanus), but according to some authors can also develop on A. platanoides and A. campestris. The larva is yellow. It makes serpentine mines on upper surface of leaves. The faeces does not fill the whole mine, concentrates on the middle line of it. The pupa is egg shaped, yellowish brown. Pupates in the soil or in the leaf litter. Central and South European Species.
