Stigmella tiliae Frey
Lepidoptera: Nepticulidae

Bivoltine (VI. and IX-X.), hosts are Tilia species. The gradually widening, serpentine mine can be found on both lower and upper surface of the leaf. Often located between two veins in a very narrow place. The faeces is in a very thin middle line in the first part of the mine, later falls apart in fine grains. The length of the mine usually reaches the 3 cm by the full development of the larva. Occurs in Europe, common in Hungary.
