Zeugophora flavicollis Marsch.
Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae

Bivoltine (VI-IX.), hosts are Populus and Salix species. The female lays eggs on the leaves, and the hatching larvae bore themselves under the epidermis. The blister like mine is large and irregular in shape. The epidermis of the mined part gets brown and dry. The fully grown larva leaves the mine, overwinters in the soil. European species, widespread in Hungary. In outbreak situation causes significant defoliation.
