Cordell C.E., Anderson R.L., Hoffard W.H., Landis T.D., Smith R.S. Jr., Toko H.V., 1989. Forest Nursery Pests. USDA Forest Service, Agriculture Handbook No. 680, 184 pp.

This handbook was prepared by a team of research scientists and pest management specialists who are experts in the field of identifying and controlling the pests of forest tree nurseries. The six technical coordinators worked with contributing authors to ensure accuracy, uniformity, and completeness of the final document. All six are employed by the USDA Forest Service. Charles (Ed) Cordell, Bob Anderson, Bill Hoffard, and Harvey Toko work in the Southern Region; Dick Smith in the Washington, DC, office; and Tom Landis in the Pacific Northwest Region. In addition, Dennis R. Hamel, USDA Forest Service Pesticide Specialist in the Washington, D.C. office, and Paul A. Mistretta, Plant Pathologist in the Southern Region, provided technical review of all pesticide recommendations.

Editors Robert C. Biesterfeldt (Southeastern Forest Experiment Station) and Linda Klein (formerly with the Southern Region), and typist Darlene R. Taylor (of the Southern Region) assisted in the early stages of manuscript preparation. Until her death in November 1987, Susan Tucker (Forest Pest Management, Washington DC) was the senior editor in charge of the project. Janet Searcy Wintermute took over at that time and brought the handbook to print, with assistance by Robin Wright and Eddie H. Curry.

Charles S. Hodges, Jr. (USDA Forest Service, retired), served as outside technical reviewer.

The technical coordinators gratefully acknowledge the work of everyone who had a hand in writing, assembling, and publishing this manual.
