7-15 mm. Palaearctic species. Polyphagous, larvae feed in dry stems and branches of broad-leaved trees. Adults often stay on the stems and stumps of the foodplant (most frequently Quercus and Fagus), feeding on the fungus Peniophora cinerea. Common in mountainous and hilly regions in Hungary.
