Erdészeti Turományos Intézet, Agroinform Kiadó, Budapest, 189 pp. Mn: Daliás cincér / En: Timberman 13-19 mm. Palaearctic species, not uncommon in a range of habitats in Hungary. Foodplants are conifers, particularly Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris). Larvae develop under the bark, and if the bark is thick enough they also pupate there. In other cases pupation takes place beneath the bark. Pupation occurs in the end of summer of the second year of development. In warm Septembers, adults may emerge in the same year. In cooler years adults emerge in the first warm days of the following spring. Can be seen on freshly dead trees and wood piles.
