5-10 mm. Occurs in Central-, and Southern-Europe. Characteristic species of older oak forests. The larvae develop in stems and branches of drying oaks (Quercus). Adults are active in the evening in June and July and are attracted to lights. Although the number of records has increased in recent decades, still considered a rare species.
