8-23 mm. Palaearctic species, common in Hungarian conifer forests. Larvae develop and pupate in heartwood of conifers, mainly Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris). Adults fly in May and June. Adults spend the day hiding, and search for fresh fallen wood and stumps at dusk.
